The story of this house

John Cavill’s houseStonemason John Cavill built this Union Street house for his family on land extending towards Little Nicholson Street.

Peter Reynolds describes a stone home arranged over three levels, with attic rooms lit by a narrow Gothic-arched window.

John and Mary Anne Cavill and their son William Henry lived here.

The original front and side balconies had been removed by the time of the 1978 account; the side alteration allowed adjoining No.

19 to be built.

The journal does not supply a precise completion date.
