The story of this home
Lisrona Cottage
Shipwright James Jackson bought the land in September 1877. Peter Reynolds’s narrative dates his weatherboard Lisrona Cottage to 1879, although the journal’s summary table gives 1877. The building year therefore remains qualified.
Jackson died at the house in 1922. His wife remained until her death in 1927, and their daughter Theresa Josephine subsequently lived there until 1935. The neighbouring 45A was a later, separate house built in 1929.
